The Got Game Camp Parent Guide: Colorado
Before You Register
Who is Got Game Camp for?
Got Game Camp Colorado serves campers ages 5-14 of every skill level and personality; the minimum age is 5 under Colorado state licensing. Campers are grouped by age into Rookies (ages 5-6), Pros (ages 7-9), and Veterans (ages 10-12), and teens ages 13-14 can join our CIT program. Placement is flexible; a camper can move up or down a group for friends or comfort, and coaches make the teams so no child is ever picked last.
Where are camps located?
Colorado families can find us at Fireside Elementary in Louisville and Aspen Ridge Preparatory in Erie. Exact sites and weeks change by season, so check the current Colorado Summer Camps page for this year’s lineup.
How does enrollment work?
Enrollment is flexible by design: register for individual days, single weeks, or the whole summer, with no minimum commitment. Weekly rates offer better pricing than daily rates, early bird registration typically saves $40 to $80 per week, and a 20% sibling discount is applied automatically. Each week runs as its own camp, so new and returning campers start fresh every Monday.
What makes a Got Game week different?
Every week has a theme, daily surprises, and activities that build toward Friday, from sports leagues with playoffs to talent shows and engineering challenges prepped all week. Sports become real weekly leagues with team drafts, standings on the Big Board, and a championship. On Fridays, medals are awarded for Heart, Attitude, Most Improved, and Most Outstanding. At Got Game, we recognize attitude and effort, not just winning.
Will My Child Love It Here?
Is Got Game a good camp for shy kids?
Yes. Shy and first-time campers are some of the kids we’re proudest of. Our coaches are trained in our We Speak Kid® philosophy: learn every camper’s name, figure out what makes them tick, and make them feel like they belong from day one. At drop-off, runners walk kids to their activity in small groups, and staff make a point of connecting kids who are standing alone, especially early in the week. Campers can also move between age groups for friends or comfort, and many of our parent reviews come from families of shy kids who didn’t want to leave at pickup.
What if my child doesn’t like sports?
They’ll still have a great time. In every one of the day’s four rotations, each camper chooses between a sport, an imaginative game like our flagship Oasis, or a creative project such as robotics, drama, coding, art, or music. A camper who never wants to pick up a ball can spend the whole day in games and creative projects, and water play is always optional too.
Will my child make friends?
Almost always, and quickly. Coaches build the teams so no child is ever picked last, campers stay with their age group through the day, and sports leagues and team competitions build throughout the week, which naturally creates bonds. Families can also request to be grouped with a friend right in registration.
The Camp Day
What are the camp hours?
The camp day runs 9:00am to 3:30pm. Doors open at 8:50am for check-in, and there is a pickup grace period until 3:40pm.
What does a typical day look like?
The day opens with a morning orientation covering the theme, the day’s main events, hydration and sunscreen reminders, and kindness expectations. From there, campers move through four one-hour rotations, and in every rotation each camper chooses between a sport, an imaginative game, or a creative project. Lunch comes after the second rotation and water play happens in a designated wet zone with coaches stationed inside it, always optional and with zero pressure for kids who prefer to stay dry and participate in other activities.
How do drop-off and pickup work?
Families are greeted at a front check-in table where staff give you their full attention, and check-in and check-out are digital through the PlayBook app. Runners then walk kids to their activity in small groups and explain what’s happening on the way. At pickup, staff verify the adult’s ID against the authorized adults on file, and a child is never released to an unlisted adult without email confirmation from the parent.
The First Day and First Week
What should we expect on the first day?
One week before camp, every family gets a welcome email with what to bring, the daily schedule, drop-off and pickup details, and your camper’s group. On the first morning, you’ll check in at the front table, and a runner will walk your child to their group. The day opens with an orientation on the week’s theme, then four rotations where campers choose their activities. Every week runs as its own camp, so first-timers and returning campers start fresh together every Monday.
How can I prepare a nervous first-timer?
Talk through the day ahead of time using the welcome email: who they’ll meet, what they’ll get to choose, and that water play is optional. Submit a friend request if they know another camper, and pack everything the night before so the morning feels calm. Finally, let our check-in staff know your child is nervous, so a coach can give them a little extra attention that first morning.
Safety and Staff
Who are the coaches?
Our Colorado coaches are experienced and enthusiastic youth coaches, teachers, and leaders who train year-round with the Got Game team. Every coach is trained in our We Speak Kid® philosophy, which means learning every camper’s name, figuring out what makes them tick, and coaching with energy and genuine care. Parents consistently tell us the coaching relationships are the number one reason they come back.
How are staff screened and trained?
As a licensed childcare provider in the state of Colorado, we screen all staff through Colorado’s required background check process, and every coach is TB tested and CPR and First Aid certified before they ever work with campers. Directors complete dedicated training days on leadership, safety, and compliance, and all staff train on operations, safety, coaching psychology, and hands-on game practice every year. Coach-to-camper ratios stay small, with 6-8 campers per coach for younger groups and 8-10 for older groups.
What safety practices run all day?
Coaches take headcounts before and after every transition, run 360 safety scans several times a day, and spread out during game time. We follow the Rule of 3, which means no one-on-one time between a staff member and a camper and restroom trips in groups, and all staff complete mandated reporter training with clear rules on appropriate touch. Staff apply spray sunscreen only, never hands-on, and never help with swimsuit changes; emotional safety matters just as much, with zero tolerance for put-downs and positive reinforcement over punishment.
How will I hear about anything that happens?
Directors personally handle all parent contact, so you always talk to a decision-maker. Parents always receive a call for any head injury, and you get a heads-up call for any significant distress so you are never surprised at pickup.
Camp Logistics
What should my child bring?
Pack a lunch and snacks, since food is not provided at camp, plus a water bottle, sunscreen, and a change of clothes or swimsuit for water play. Optional pizza days and snack carts are available for a small fee if your camper wants to buy something extra. Medications are checked in at intake, expired medications cannot be accepted, and Colorado licensing requires current immunization records for every camper.
Can my child be grouped with a friend?
Yes, and it’s easy. There is a friend request section right in registration, or you can email us after registering and we update your camper’s profile and relay the request to our on-the-ground staff. Since placement is flexible, campers can also move between age groups for friends or comfort.
Beyond Summer
Does Got Game run camps outside of summer in Colorado?
Not currently. Our Colorado camps run during the summer season only. Families looking for Thanksgiving, winter break, or spring break camps can find them at our Los Angeles locations.
